pes 5 crashing

Just reinstalled PES5 to get ready for pes 6, but it won't work! It loads fine, go through the options and start a game. But when a match / training is loading, it just crashes to the desktop saying PES5.exe has encountered a problem and needs to shut down.

All my other games are fine, and PES 5 used to work fine on this install of windows etc so i'm a bit baffled. Is this a known issue with pes5 or something?

You'll have to give more details, "it crashed" isn't very useful. Blue screen? drop to desktop? anything in the event viewer? (run menu > eventvwr)

Event viewer shows: Faulting application pes5.exe, version 1.0.0.1, faulting module pes5.exe, version 1.0.0.1, fault address 0x001b7a6d.

Try moving any saved files you have in the first folder (documents/konami/pro evo/save/folder1) on the hard drive to the second one(folder2). This worked for me and I copied only my option file back so it loaded everything correctly.

THANK YOU so much. That worked a treat. I didn't realise that when i was uninstalling it, it wasn't actually getting rid of those folders, hence the problem persisting.

many thanks again! Just had my first game for 2 months, and by god it's so much better than fifa 07!
