99% of the time, when i re-fill my car with petrol, it fails to start on the first attempt. The second attempt usually needs a bit of throttle to kick the engine into gear.

Any idea? I don't have any starting issues apart from filling up.

Car - Ford Fiesta 1.25

Leaky injector, possibly not closing properly.

Try throwing a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank when you next fill up.

Could also be a CLT or AT sensor issue - what is the exact year of your car - you might be able to get an OBD scan done on it to confirm.

How often do you restart the car shortly after turning it off (like you would in a petrol station?)

Perhaps it's an issue when it's hot rather than specifically after a fill-up?

Makes sense to me.

The only way I can see filling it up upsetting it is if its an issue with the fuel pump. That is assuming the fuel pump is located in the tank as most are these days. I'd say this was unlikely at best though.
