Rather pointless thread, and i am sure i will get flummoxed by anyone who drives for a "living", but i just did a fuel spend total as part of an HMRC claim, and although obviously i had some idea, when totalled in one go like this it seemed one hell of a lot, especially given that all of this fuel has been burnt by a single car - my S430 Mercedes.

Anyway the last 12 months stands at around £6,000, wow :o

My Shell Citicard bill seems to come to just under £300 a month now, so ~£3500 a year I guess.

Was that £6,000 in direct fuel costs, or mileage payments?

I've just claimed for about £2,500, but that was mileage payments of 30p, claimed back the extra 10p as relief, got a £250 rebate... spread over 12 months :(

I've rinsed through about £3k in fuel in the 5 series, coming up to a year now, over 14,000 miles.

With our current mileage, about £100/month, but due to me going back to college in September, and my wife's lift-share partner moving to Scotland (thus ending their share - the wife's not driving up there to collect her every other morning!) , it'll be nearer £200. :(

However, £6K/year is !

6k! :D

I have a spreadsheet (that I've been a bit slack with lately :( ) which I started on 19/06/2008 so according to that, between then and 27/06/2009 I spent £1,200. I do about 160 miles/week.

Since I've had the MX-5 I've spent about £600 on fuel for it. Sounds like a lot in one go :D

As in, i have spent ~£6,000. Claim is obviously higher with tax relief on top :) Just seems like a lot of fuel for one car to have rinsed through in only 12 months!

Probably about £1000~

Reckon I'm gonna end up doing about 7k per year... mainly dual carriageway miles... totally appropriate car :D

Roughly 5500-6000 litres per year, since Christmas have had a bit of a down turn in work, so I haven't been fueling up as often as I previously would. Just took the figure for the 1/4 and tripled it.

So obviously it depends massively on fuel prices how much it has cost.

My works van alone will have gone through roughly £7000 worth of diesel in the past year. Add on top of that around £1500 for my personal miles in my ctr it makes for a quite scary total. Driving roughly 60k a year aint cheap!

Used to do at least a tank a week but since lift sharing that's almost halved so probably only about £100 a month, so a paltry £1200 a year, approximately.

Working on an average of a £60 fill up lasting me 10 days (it's a 40 mile round trip to work), just commuting to work every year costs me about £2200. Add on social trips as well and it's probably closer to £2500.

Can't wait to move closer to work and start cycling every day! Massive money savings and get fitter at the same same :)

Not sure on the total spending when I had the BMW, but between 26/04/09 and 30/06/09 I spent £440 in fuel. Over a year the average would be ~£2600. Although I know if the car worked and I was keeping it, it'd be a lot more than that.
