Peugeot 206 wheels!

My girlfriend had bought a 2001 Peugeot 206 1.1i last year as her first car and it comes with alloy wheels which is too wide for the tyres fitted so it could wear out the edge of tyres quickly plus the ride isn't good. Obviously, this car came from boy racer.

With her tight budget, we thought the best way to sell or exchange the alloy wheels and get standard steel wheels so we got the wheels from local Peugeot and I was to get them fitted at local tyre garage...it turned out that the steel wheels I got (for newer 206 models) have smaller hub diameter size than older 206 so they couldn't fit my girlfriend car!

I went back to Peugeot dealer and I was told that Peugeot don't sell those wheels for older 206 models anymore! So I got the refund and decided to call at some car dismantlers, all of them do not have it. Apart from one that only has two used wheels selling a rip off £25 each!

It has driven me up a wall, surely it shouldn't be that difficult to find a set of steel wheels for older 206, especially that there are plenty of 206s on road!?

Any help sourcing them would be greatly appreciated. I have looked at ebay but I live in N Ireland and it is always collection instead of delivery. Help me! :p

What kind of wheels are on the vehicle at the moment?

I have a 2001 206 which should have the older style wheels, I may be interested in helping you out.

EDIT: thinking about it there should be no issue between the wheels of any age 206. Plus I'm not in northern ireland so you'd be back to square one if we had an arrangement.

I would go to http://forum.206online.com/ and check with the guys there. There's a few from NI too who may have their steelies/old alloys spare.

Ok, thanks. I will have a look.

Actually, I thought the same until I try to get them fitted at tyre garage. I was surprised as I honestly don't know why Peugeot has changed the size of hub!
