I was driving along last night when my headlights appeared to turn off without warning. When I got out the vehicle to check the problem I've found they haven't gone out completely they're just very dim. They work fine on full beam and all the other light are working. Any ideas what the problem is?

Would the lights work at all if a fuse had gone? Could it possibly be the battery?

Depending on what bulbs you have, my guess would either be that the dipped beam filaments/bulbs have gone and all you are seeing is the running lights...?

Either that, or a dying battery...

Sounds like the main beam and sidelights are working but the dipped beam bulbs arent.
I guess it could be 2 blown bulbs, but that sounds less likely than a relay, the 306 is quite bad for them.
Or a fuse, not sure if there is a fuse just for those lights or not.

It's the dim/dip resistor. Had the same problem with my 306.

Mine was located in the passenger side wing.
That's sounds very likely. I did notice a small noise from around that area just after the lights went out. How much was it to get it sorted?
