PFA Players' Player of the Year nominees:
Carlos Tevez
Cesc Fabregas
Didier Drogba
Wayne Rooney

Young Player of the Year nominees:
Cesc Fabregas
James Milner
Joe Hart
Wayne Rooney

I think Rooney and Fabregas will share them

So who do you think will get them?

Rooney will breeze the main one, hopefully Hart will get the young player vote

It's a joke both Rooney & Fabregas are even up for the young player award tbh

Agree with that totally

Should be first two years in the EPL over x amount of games or under 22 yo (for foreign players) or some such

(after all if you are good enough to be considered for the award you would have played a fair amount of games anyway)

I would like to see Milner receive the young PFA award. I think he has had a cracking season so far.

Between Drogba and Rooney for the PFA Players' Player. Both have been on top form all season.

Drogba should win it frankly, he's scored one less with 6 more assists in a team not built completely around him with goals.

Lone strikers for me, teams built around a lone striker will tend to have one uber high scoring striker, Chelsea are more a 4-4-2 this year and Anelka's assist/build up play, strength is better than Rooney's for me. Defensively he's HUGE for Chelsea aswell, back for every defensive setpiece clearing header after header.

Complete a-hole, but has been superb this year. Especially considering Rooney's out and Drogba's fit I think he'll finish the season having scored more with more than double the assists, in a likely title winning and maybe double winning side vs Utd who Rooney probably helped get the pointless title.

If it was two foreign players, Drogba would snatch it, bigger cups, more goals(probably) far more assists, does more in the team, it would be clear cut. With Rooney being English..... it will probably go to Rooney.

If Drogba was less of a **** he might snatch it, bigger cups, more goals(probably) far more assists, does more in the team, it would be clear cut.

Fixed that for you.
Rooney has it. He was the form player during the voting period and had a great season overall so it's hard to see it going else where.
The young player needs a review. Players seem to be reaching their peak sooner so I don't think it's serving the purpose of high-lighting the up and coming talent.

Don't understand how anyone can be picking Rooney for player of the year and not young player of the year, it defies logic. If he's the best player, then by definition, he must also be the best young player if he's eligible.

Then again, we have the same debate every year.

Personally I think Young POTY max age should be reduced from 23 to 21 at the start of the season. Maybe a bit harsh on young keepers as they tend to mature later though.... then again, when was the last time a goalie won Young POTY anyway? Mervyn Day some 35 years ago?

Agree with all the above, it's just stupid the way it is now.

If you think about Young POTY, what's it all about - identifying young players who've had a great season and could go on to great things in the future.

Nowadays, how many genuinely top notch players do we see that haven't burst on to the scene by the time they are 22 (rather than 24 as the award currently permits)? It's pretty much guarenteed that any real talent will have got his chance by then (assuming they aren't a foreign import obviously). It's very rare you see a genuine superstar who hasn't already had a great season by that age, all the big England names like Rooney, Gerrard, Fowler, Owen, Adams, Shearer, Gascoigne, Lampard etc had established themselves by that age.
