Deciding to take the plunge and upgrade me PG348Q. I have been looking at the LG's 34gn850 and 38gn950 as i saw a thread of someone who was happy with the change.
I do like the new Samsung G9 but i think its just a little too big and i've heard its quite buggy.

I there any other people would recommend? Or maybe should i wait for maybe something new coming in 2021?

Dunno! What Struck me about the Samsung G9 is that I have actually been using a larger desktop for years. It looks huge and it sounds huge but it's actually only the same as two twenty four inch monitors side by side, but they do have a high pixel density. Problems mainly seem to be the panel falling apart, but it seems that maybe Samsung have fixed that but hid the entire thing anyway so who really knows? I gather the latest stock is fine but since no one seems to acknowledge the problem ever happened it's difficult to say.

There seem to be some issues with the LG's too. The G-Sync versions making too much noise ( the fan ) and never in stock. Even to the point where now overclockers has stopped selling one of them for some reason or other. So, I don't know. I am in pretty much the same state myself. All the fan problems with the G-Sync modules are making me think I want freesync. Many folks are excited at the prospect of the 38" Alienware that will be in the UK in exactly two weeks, but there seems to be the same fears about the G-Sync module it may or may not contain!!! I may just gnaw one of my legs off so I can beat myself over the head.... and buy a a slightly less ambitious model.

I had two G9's, amazing monitor - unfortunately, the units I got had issues. Furthermore, I should have checked that the games I mostly play are compatible with the ultrawide resolution, they were not. Wow, for example, had bad fisheye and to me personally I could not overlook it. PVP was not good! :) But, the cracking, the buzzing, the flicker and also surprisingly enough the heat it gave off. I had to purchase a small fan otherwise my face would burn! Would I have probably kept it though, yes - the picture and immersion was that damn good, if you can get a good unit. I'm going for the ROG PG43UQ instead, that looks amazing, big with a great picture.

I have the PG348Q but theres just nothing else out there that i think is worth upgrading for yet... all I want is a 240hz version of this. Good HDR would be a nice addition too.

I am coming to the same conclusion myself. Although there are some good monitors, Nvidia really seem to be having issues with fan noise and the very few large Freesync monitors are really difficult to get hold of. I am considering giving up too and just forgetting it all for a while.

Am also using a PG34Q myself

Am highly thinking of upgrading to the Asus PG35VQ

Am waiting to see if there a black Friday deal on it
(As it did drop in price to £1799 2 weeks ago but i missed that deal :()

Too rich for my blood that one, its actually almost exactly what I want that price is just WAY too much.

I have spent £1200 on a display in the past, that would still be my absolute limit.

Same as Rex for me. Couldn’t justify 2k. I think if I saw for the 1700 I would consider but not right now. see what gets released over the next 12 months.

I remember how hard it was for me to press the buy button for my PG34Q and the Asus PG35VQ is over twice the price of it :(:(:(
