I love the game and think it is great i have done all the trophies however i have a problem. I can do everything on either hard or hardcore fairly easily but cone challenges i just seemed to be unabel to do them and have to do them on medium i have done a couple on hard. Anyone else have problems with this obviously i need them to get all hard and hardcore trophies so has anyoen got any advice for me on how to approach these ones, its the one type that i have problems with.

hmm that is a very interesting idea how does it rack you up all the kudos? makes it easy to slide?

Just go through each set of gates in time to rack up a huge multiplier, the ultima in 2nd gives you just the right constant speed to be able to do this with relative ease; slide through each corner and don't hit a cone or side and you'll be laughing.

most of the top scores seem to be done with the RUF concept car now, theres an easy way to get more points ;)

Rack up huge combos by sliding slightly left to right to the cones, if u miss 1 cone just slide to make sure u keep the combo going. When u come to a BIG corner and u have loads of space do a couple of 360s, u get fent powerover things, eslide brake combos and stuff rack up really quick! then head back thru cones and keep it going

Ditto, I can't even see the cones until I rammed them over. /me makes a note about using the GTR in 2nd gear...

Can someone recommend a decent car for racking up combo kudos, I hoped something like the Atom would be good, but its great to learn in but not much else.

Got about 1.5M crdits so should be able to get most of the cars ( maybe not the concept ones yet though) This is the only part of the game I am really struggling with

I am currently in a GT40 I think with around 10 championships completed (mostly on easy / medium I admit)

I find it a bit difficult to see the cones too, i can see the ones right in the middle of the tracks no problems, but i have to slow right down to see if the other cones to the left or right of it so i know which side to go through them.

I find the group A Lambo good for cone challenges. Use a manual and flick between 2nd and 3rd gear. You only need 2nd gear mostly. The Lambo will drift at five miles an hour in 2nd so quite good it you **** up and have to stop to avoid hitting a barrier and need to quickly get kudos.

I'm finding it a complete and utter pig, been trying to do the first one of Hardcore for the last hour but after an hour of swearing and hitting things I did the manly thing and gave up :(

like people have said use the ultimar or possibly the radical. keep it going slow and just turn ever so slightly and use the handbrake in between cones to keep the time going and ya combo up!and like i said do big 360s in an open space! on the london track with big ben on the corner (her majestys track i believe) u have huge amount of space on the 1st corner to keep going around in circles.

I am struggling on the Her Majesty's Pleasure cone challenge on Gold. Managed to figure out how to watch the replay's last night, and by the time the top guy has exited the first corner, he's got something like double the required kudos for the whole event!!!

He basically does the big 360's (ie keeps it sliding in a very wide circle) and the kudos just racks up like there's no tomorrow. I think I'm gonna have to practice these "wide donuts" as my 360's normally just pivot around the front wheels.

i said that twice in the same thread rofl the trick to doing em is to start in a big circle press A and turn in then back out drive a wee bit more to keep circle big then A in and out to slide, drive > A > steer In > Steer Out > drive over n over ;) just make sure u dont spend to long there tho as u will run out of time

remember its not always nessecary to get every cone! Ull get more points if u was to handbrake it around a corner (taking it on the inside) keep sliding out of it and then aim for the 2nd-3rd set of cones off the corner

right ill let u onto a lil secret as well for getting high kudos ;)

On one of the last 1v1s if u do it on platinum u are against a F50GT on part of the nurburg track, from the start line plough into the car! u need to get in front of it and keep him pressed against the barrier so the back of your car is touched the front of his. Keep reversing it will move back ever so slightly! Ull end up on the other side of the start line at some point and this is the tricky bit. What u have to do is slowly steer to the right so the back of your car starts to slowly point back towards the track (in reverse controls are opposite obviously). The aim is to get the f50 to point 90degrees from where facing the front. He'll end up facing the opposite wall and he wont move! Then drive down the track and drive > brake slide > drive > brake slide the whole length of the track ;) i scored over 50,000 kudos

I can remember doing these when I had PGR3. The worst thing I found with them is some of the cones are place around the corners exactly where the back of your car is in a powerslide so you end up loosing all of the kudos on the cones coming out of the corner. I think I done one set on gold but the rest on silver as I couldn't be bothered. This repetition was the main reason I traded gotham in for COD2.

I've just run into the same problem, I'm working my way through everything and can't do any cone challenges on hardcore, some of the scores they want are insane.

I'll try the 2nd gear technique, but I bet even that won't rack up the 42,000 or so kudos some of the challenges want.
