Hi guys

Just started playing PGR3 and loving it :) however i cant for the life of me figure out how to driver the F50 GT? i am using the DBR9 (what an amazing car!!) but online its just not quick enough and other players are taking me out on the straights, can someone please give me some tips on how to drive this car?

TIA

G

For me, I just brake very early and brake quite a lot, I take the corners quite slow and I will gradually build up confidence to take them a bit faster. Even though most people use it online I always try to avoid it, Radical sr3 or sr8 turbo all the way!

Thats what i have been trying but it seems to easy to spin the car after a corner, so you think its best just to avoid that car then?

try the F1 LM, it's competative with the f50 GT but handles better IMO

it's not all over the place on bumpy tracks aswell :)

i normally use one of the 2 in A class

Nice one, i'll give it a try :)

talk to mcdaniel he is king with this car

all i can say is brake slowly but firmly so not to kick the tail out and gently squeeze the accelerator so as not to kick the tail out whilst turning

:p

you can brake quite late with the F50GT its only the exit acceleration that tends to cause the tail spinning, whiles cornering the apex compress the accelerator very gently (10% push) then as you exit the corner gradually over a space of 1-3 seconds compress the accelerator more untill your confident enough that it wont spin out.

even with the throttle only at 20% it accelerates liek a maniac

/edit

if your breaking ona bumpy surface be careful, sometimes its good to coast without brakes or throttle untill your confident to break

Like i say though its really about excellerating out of the corner, build it up over 1-3 seconds, not just slam down on the trigger to go - or youll spin like a gooden

ye like MCD says ya gotta drive it like a real life F1 type car. It has too much HP to just floor it, until its at some speed the aerodynamics will not be applying enough force to keep the power down. I know this is largely irrelevent to a videogame however the principles sometimes help you better understand the practice.

Another example, as i am want to digress, is gearing on a corner. If you dare to switch it over to manual gears have a go at a corner these 2 ways, in the first instance take the corner at 100 in 3rd gear, then take the same corner with the same car at the same speed but in 5th.

You will note that in the first instance you wheelspun, perhaps even right out. In the second instance you will see that you pootled around the corner far steadier. This is down to engine revs. At a given speed in a higher gear the engine revs lower. This means that the relative spin of the wheels the rate at which they wish to spin is lesser compared to that of the engine, thus the accelerative forces are reduced, this gives poorer performance but better traction, so some quick gearing mid corner can do some special things.

i suppose this could also be done on automatic cos you can still change the gears manually? or saying that in automatic you will probably end up fighting the car for the gear that you want.....

I'll have a play around with this tonight, thanks for all your advice guys if your online later maybe you can give me a few poiters :D

Feel free to invite me to a game if your in the mood for giving someone a good thrashing that is lol

Yeah if you manually gear while in auto its likely the car will want to do precisely what you dont want it to, ie change gear. The idea is that as you hit the most volatile point of a medium corner you change up quickly to prevent loss of traction then down again to accelerate, the opposite can then be applied to tighter corners with a downchange mid corner.

is it me or is it incredibly hard to just pick up and play online. It takes forever to actually get in a race and ive lost count of the number of times ive been sitting in a 3 out of 4 server waiting for 1 last person and then suddenly it connects me to another server with just me on it!

Ive been sitting here for about 30 mins and still no game.....

is there anyway to actaully see a list of all servers etc. with amount of ppl on it?

I thought xbox live was meant to be pick up and play more pick up and pray lol

What he said.

Also, on a slow corners the car doesn't normally want to shift down to 1st, so I drop it down manually then, to stop the insane wheel spin I change back up to 2nd manually. Seems to help a fair bit.

sometimes on auto the car doesnt accelerate(revs dont seem to increase) out of slow corners

just blip the throttle and it will accelerate faster in these cases.
