PGR3 - Is this a bug?

Just going through the races to get Platinum (actually, going through the races to TRY and get Platinum!!!!)

Come to one race which is race 5 (timed run) in Breakneck World Tour.

Tried for the past hour, always about a second off the finish so decided to load up the worlds best to see if I can match them (tend to do this as it's a lot better racing an opponent than yourself to achieve a goal).

Was WAY ahead of them when the counter went red and thought they must be drifting round a corner far far better than me to catch up.

Anyway, the timer hit 0, another second from the finish, but they are still behind me!

How have they got world best if they've never finished?

I thought the worlds best had:

Worlds best in Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Steel levels :confused:

Does the time allowed not vary depending on the car used?

It does indeed, though not usually by all that much. Enough to count, though.

Bizarre, eh? Just this sort of problem existed in the euro version of MSR. The time was just not possible in the required vehicle an Alfa GTV.

Fair point, but try using the same car! You still beat the worlds best, but still lose!

The ranking system is based on Kudos, so they could very well have been done at a lower difficulty.

Well I'm beginning to realise that, I suppose that's good, but hardly a real challenge if someones doing tricks in the supercar concept on steel compared to someone handling a a GT50 on a New York bridge time limit of 3 seconds.

O well, practice practice practice...
