PGR3 vs Forza 2

PGR3 is better than forza for my money. They are different games but PGR looks better to me and feels faster. Felt more variety too.

Both are good games though. I do think the handling of the faster cars in forza is much better though. Sometimes with stuff like the F50 on PGR I felt I was driving on ice.
Absolutely spot-on.

I was actually dissapointed with the graphics of the scenery in Forza 2. After all the hype I was expecting a lot better but it pales in comparison against GTHD. I'm dont mean this in a PS3 is better than 360 way at all, I just thought they could have done better.

The big let down in forza 2 is the lack of tracks imo, im up to level 41 and its boring the hell out of me seeing the same tracks i was racing 20 levels ago, tracks pgr3 has it for me and i honestly think its far more fun too, getting those gold cups on pgr3 took some serious time think i played that game for 60-70 hrs but i totally loved it and i never grew tired of it, where as i am something like 15 hrs in and i don't enjoy playing forza 2 as much its still a good game mind.

I agree with what joebob said too the graphics are a let down really, seeing as its what a year and a half since pgr3 came out and looks wise pgr3 has it, shame they used the same engine for forza 2 maybe they saw the limitations of what it could do.

Scenery in GTHD is even more sparse than in Forza 2!

Oh yeah and that stupid ******* off track timer can just **** right off :/

Its pointless anyway as there are hardly any bits where you can take advantage of cutting a corner, so if you do go off the track you lose time anyway, no need for the red timer.

I'm not on about how sparse the scenery is but rather how good it looks. If you squint your eyes a little in GTHD then it's approaching photo realism - the same can't be said about Forza 2.

I'm putting up with Forza2. PGR3 I loved, can't tell if it's because it was a launch title or the fact that the 360 was new, but I certainly had more anticipation in waiting for the online games with OcUK'ers on an evening that I am with Forza2.

Graphics wise, F2 is definately better, but PGR3 seemed more of a great arcade racer, immediate hands on, lots of laughs, fun fun fun, where as F2 seems more of a thinking mans game.

Between the 2 I'd have to say that graphically and aurally, F2 wins hands down. But for overall enjoyment, PGR3 still beats the majority of racers. Definately benchmark material that one.

I was under the impression that GTHD was just some fancy playable tech demo.

You have virtually no physics and the CPU doesn't have to bother with opponent AI because there isn't any.

Most importantly, there are no other cars that the GPU has to render and take into account, allowing the game developers to really bump up the graphical quality.

If MS went up to Turn 10 and asked them to produce something similar, we'd all be saying the same thing with Forza 2.

Forza2 uses a series of filters so that it doesn't appear photorealism, that was never the aim with it.

I definitely don't think GTHD approaches photo-realism either, I think the backgrounds are poor, flat and quite bitty.

It's not just the backgrounds but also the level of detail on the road too. IMO GTHD is a lot crisper and looks a lot nicer than Forza 2.
