PGR3: Which car for cone challenge?

Hi all,

What is the best car (in your opinion) for the cone challenge in PGR3 - the races where you need to pass through cones in order to create kudos bonus. Then you have to powerslide / other manouvers to get the kudos.

Been using the GT Ultimate and RUF at the moment, but can't seem to do hard on some of the tracks.

Any recomended cars guys?

I loved using the TVR Tuscan to be honest. It loved some bar through the back and would slide around easy peasy, but its heavy enough that its not a twitchy slide and you can pull it back when you want..
 
I use either the Ferrari F40 or the Palmer Jaguar personally. Do them all on Hardcore and you can pretty much get Rank 1 out of it quite quickly as long as you keep it all on 1 big combo right to the end.
 
It takes some skill but the F50 GT can be good as long as you can control it's slides which is a bit of a mission because of all the cones everywhere. But if you do manage to do a decent slide and keep the car between the cones it's extremely easy to do the harder modes.

I found the DBR9 is quite nice as well for cone challenges especially for beginners, it has a nice ammount of control but can also be used to do mad slides.
 
If you know you're going to miss a cone gate, initiate a slide quickly by e-brake/handbrake, that's all I do, so even if I miss out a load of gates on the way, I've got 2 or 3 fishtailed handbrake slides to account for it each time.
 
I've started playing this and gone through races using the Atom only and quite like the handling but it's no the fastest so i checked out what everyone else was using and spent all my credit on a F50 :(

The F50 is fast but my god it's like racing on ice, I'm pulling my hair out trying to control it! I'm using the MS stearing wheel by the way and find it fine with the Atom.

Anyone got any advice for a N00B?
 
The F50GT likes its backend to come out a hell of a lot, so be easier on the throttle coming out of corners. It's a car you need a lot of practice with really to get it perfect.

This man speaks the truth, by far the easiest way to do the cone challenges IME...just keep tapping the handbrake and skid round the whole course. Have to earn the car first though.

Ultima GTR all the way. I have yet to find a car so easy to rack up Kudos with.
 
I HATE CONES, I HATE THEM !!!

these are the scurge of pgr and they are stopping me from completing it on platinum.

ive done quite a few but i am totally stuck on one in london where i have to get 42,000 K :eek:

stupid cones :mad: if they were even a decent colour, i could see them coming lol. i tell you, they jump out in front of you ! like skinny yellow lemmings !!
 
Must admit I'm quite fond of the Shelby GT-500 for cone challenges. Not that fast but lots of fun doing the slideys :)
