What fresh hell is this BS?
I ordered a PSU not one of those octopus robots from the matrix.

On a £100 PSU as well... If it was £30 I could understand.

I might be wrong but I thought the main connectors were supposed to be sleeved and a variety of cable management options included so you can bundle up cables as required within the case.

Clearly not!!
I've just got some zip ties, a bit of velcro and some crappy plastic block thingies.

It's going to take me hours to do a tidy job of it.

I'm absolutely fuming. All the cables are the same, completely seperate.

I've got half a mind to return it...

Edit... They are sleeved and braided all right... Each wire is individually braided FFS

That is what I was talking about - seems to be the way a lot of PSUs are going these days.

I quite like it.

Bit of a Marmite thing - if you setup a system once and/or enjoy cable management it can be a benefit to getting a nice neat setup, but if you change hardware a fair bit and/or just lazy and want to just stick the system together in an OK fashion then it can be a pain.

This was so much all the rage years back yet seems to be back full circle, only a few weeks ago I thought how cool it is that many PSU's have braided cables considering the price of kits.

then recently plugging in an old PSU I had in storage with it's old Cable mod kit, I actually thought I would prefer normal cables.

Simply annoyed me. And to add insult it's old 6pin PCIe to 6+2 daisy chained to 6+2 x 4. Can't even get simple 8 pin single cables unless I buy extensions which defeats the point in custom cables.

I'm not too bothered by that sort of thing.

I have a non-modular Bitfenix Formula Gold 650w that I call the spaghetti monster, fantastic PSU so I refuse to give up on it but the cables are a bloody mile long and very stiff. I've currently got the thing stuffed into a M-ATX build and it was an absolute nightmare getting everything to fit, let alone cable manage adequately.

People pay a small fortune to have cables like that from the likes of Cablemods. I would much rather have them like that than a bulky cable that's a nightmare to cable manage like my 2021 Corsair RM850x. At least it comes with cable combs so you can make the bits of cable that are actually visible nice and neat.

Not to be that guy but it does clearly state this on their website about the cables:

Fully Modular Design, individually textured cables for easy installation and reduced clutter.

Considering people are wanting the look of induvial sleeved cables these days for 'show builds' I can see why they've gone with those (the revolt range come with cablemod braided cables)
