Hi all. Currently looking at a new system and have a choice of either the Phanteks Eclipse P600S or Enthoo Evolv X. I know the X is a bit more expensive and has more bays for internal drives and is slightly larger but I was wondering beyond this if there were any real differences of note besides their style?

No worries, also the X has some rgb, the S doesnt (well mine doesnt which is 3 years old, dont know if the new S's have some).
Thanks. I've never considered myself a big RGB guy so it's nice to know that might be a difference.

I think I prefer the look of the X but not sure I like it enough to offset the difference in price, potentially worse cooling and to gain RGB that I likely wouldn't miss.

The X is a lovely looking case but 200 quid lovely? hmm. I dont know what colour S you were considering? the new 'snow white' one doesnt have the fan hub whereas the black or grey ones do, just be aware :)

I love my Evolv-X (silver), it's well made, the cast ally front/top are high quality and phanteks support has been great.. The inbuilt RGB controller and Fan hub is great in a pinch (much prefer the Corsair commander pro over motherboard driven fans).

But things have moved on, both the P600s and Evolv-X are not that flexible IMO, my next case will probably be in the Lian Li 011D style, in fact the new Phanteks NV7 looks good!.. this puts the PSU in the right hand chamber, and allows extra fans/rad on the bottom, and this allows more flexibilty and also the ability to have 2 rads and still drag in cool air, blow it over teh GPU or motherboard before exiting out of the rads, something you can't do in the Evolv-X/P600s, really to get good internal air flow and radiators, you have to compromise (I had a 420mm front rad, 280 XFlow top rad in my Evolv-X and did have to compromise on cool air flow over the motherboard/nvme drives which ran hotter than I liked).

I've just dismantled the water loop in mine, and temporarily used an AK620 aircooler and mounted the GPU in it's normal position with 3 x 140mm fans up top, 3 x 140mm fans in the front and a 140mm fan on the rear, this is actually quite a quiet setup, aside from gaming where the GPU is spinning up a bit, I've got an AIO just (hopefully) being RMA'd that I'll fit up top, but I'll save water cooling until I get a new case.
