Hi all,

Im about to build my first pc in years.

I have decided on a few bits but looking for advice on the rest if anyone could help. So i only do two things on my main pc. Gaming and Photoshop.

So i have around £1100 for the equipment excluding water-cooling loop.

What do you think of this so far.

Phanteks Evolv ATX Tempered Glass
Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz
Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151
Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
OCZ TRION 150 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB ACX 3.0
Powersupply- don't know

Im set on the case, I will need some help with the loop later but what would you lot change? Can i do better for my budget ?

Thanks all,
Theo

Thank you for that :) . My budget actually goes upto just short of 2K but that will include my full loop for that build. I won't need an OS so that will save a bit.
Any reason why you would go with the 150gb sad and lose the 6700k ?

IF your budget is quite fleixible then take alook at this build too. I was trying to keep cost down to your budget but with 2k limit inc watercooling i think you could push a bit more into components. Remember that these new components take hardly any power so cooling capacity (radiator space) can be greatly reduced while keeping the same temperatues compared to older kit.

Slightly better PSU, intels weird 600p m.2 that is super fast read and SATA speed write. pretty good price. get the 500gb samsung 850 if you'd prefer. faster ram to go with more capable motherboard and cpu.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,394.88
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Thank you so much for all of these. I now have a much better idea of the direction to go in.
Im just using the EK water block configurator to pick out the correct parts to go with this build.

According to the EK configurator they suggest that a single 360 would be sufficient to cool both the CPU and GPU in a single loop. What do you think ?

a single 360 sounds plausible. PCs barely sip power these days, and so efficient. if its more tidy to get 2 x 240 then i'd go for that instead.
