i have this motherboard - Asus P8Z68 LX-V.

the manual for the hub says i need to plug the hub into my CPU_FAN header as it is the main source of PWM. i did do this and it gave CPU_FAN errors on boot, i can ignore the monitoring but still it would be nice to be able to monitor the fan speeds and this header didnt let me do that either. i cant do this as it means i have to have my radiator fan plugged into it.

so i have my hub plugged into CHA_FAN1 as that is suppose to offer PWM aswell (just not as good).

i am not noticing any difference in the chassis fan rpm's noise wise. i have set them to the lowest and the highest. they sound exactly the same. i think they are on full rpm. also my motherboard cant read any rpm from the hub, i understand it will only be accurate for one of the fans plugged in and that would be fine as i would atleast see the rpm changed with my settings.

i have looked in the BIOS for setting like; DC, PWM etc on the CHA_FAN1 but the only options it gives me is the different modes you can pick ie. auto, manual, silent and turbo etc.

can anyone offer some advice please? the fan noise is not unbearable but it is loud enough to hear.

The readings say 0rpm.

Finding info about the headers is pretty hard lol. I'm sure I saw someone say the cha fan headers are reduced pwm function.

But yea the CPU fan header is the only one showing anything and letting me change speeds.

well i unplgugged the big 12v sata cable form the power on my hub and it seems to work now :)

i dont get any info for it but i can defo feel and hear the difference.
i didnt unplug it last time i looked as i recall thinking it was something to do with the LED lights, i was obviously mistaken.

I thought the hub would just use the speed of the fan in slot 1 or something. Tbh I'm not that fussed it would just be nice to see what the speed difference was/is. I know it's working it just doesn't display any info for speed.

I understand that the fan hub (which has 3 fans plugged into it) will only display the speed of one of them. Or that's how I thought it would work.
