Phanteks or Alpenföhn K2?

Hi guys

Been reading some great reviews on these 2 coolers over at vortez but i just cant decide which to go for. The Alpenföhn K2 is a little cheaper but from what i have been reading its a lot heavier than the phanteks white all be it the fans on the Alpenföhn K2 are supposed to be pretty dam good

Could anyone help me sway my decison? Im going to install it on a new z77 board but not decided which one yet. It will be cooling a new 2500k which i hope to buy sometime this week :)

I'd say go for the K2, the Phanteks while more expensive only does a degree or 2 better than the K2. Unless you are aiming to colour coordinate the interior of your case to perfection just get the shiny K2 :D.
 
All the big dual radiator air coolers offer pretty similar performance. Get which ever one you find a good deal on. Although I do like my D14 :D
 
The Phanteks is undeniably the best but the K2 is a great option for the price. If you don't mind the slight price premium of the former, then go for it. However, I'd say the K2 is the better looking of the two from an aesthetic point of view. Saying that, there is a Phanteks in black coming out soon.

I've got one here :P. The K2 still looks better in my opinion but at least the Phanteks isn't far behind. Now I have to decide which to use in my new rig. K2, Red Phanteks or black one :p

The Phanteks coolers are priced pretty well these days so it takes some of the K2's glory away.

A k2 in black would look fantastic. Always loved the look of my old TRUE black, much better looking than the silver ultra in my other rig. Even in silver finish though, the k2 looks very nice.

Definitely going for the Black Phanteks. Hopefully in the next couple of months the price will come down a bit.:D

Agreed Helios, the supermega i have cost £70.00. Performance was good, but it needed high speed fans. It does look fantastic in black though. Strangely too, the supermega only supports intel sockets, unlike the standard megahelims.

What happened to silver arrow?

While I can still see Noctua NH-D14 selling, the former seems to have disappeared completely.

So now it seems we have phanteks, alpenfohn or noctua to choose from, for dual tower heatsinks.
