Phanteks PCIe Gen5 Vertical GPU Bracket - Compatibility issues.

After watching too much Northwest Repair and similar discussing that even with a support, heavy GPU's are twisting the PCB I wanted to switch my Zotac 4080 to a vertical orientation.
OCUK list the mount as universal if you have 7 PCI slots so I just tried to install in a Fractal Define R6.

The mount won't install, I even tried removing all the thumb screws and just trying the small sub assembly that hooks in where the PCI-E slot covers normally go.
The Phanteks case seem to use covers that when removed leave the whole aperture wide open, while on the Define and many other cases there are thin verticals running top to bottom.
Seems the strengthening rib in the Phantecs bracket interferes with these ribs and likely would for any other similar case without a totally clear opening.

Anyone else resolve this type of issue? Not sure whether to get the Dremel out over Christmas since I'd have to totally strip the case, try a different bracket, different case.
Most of the other brackets look a less robust.....

At a push could change case, but I have a 280 AIO and am still clinging to my 5.25 Blue Ray....... which limits options.

Define R6 does support vertical but only dual slot while the Zotac is a 3.5 fatboy.

How it looks installed in a Phanteks case

I just returned one as it didn't really fit properly in my phantek nv9 case, there was a huge gap at the top of the pcie slot, I'm not impressed.

Wish i'd seen this post a day ago, ordered one and now seriously doubting my evolv x will accommodate it without modifying it. Currently have a coolermaster vgpu mount and it works because it has a decent gap between the pci slot covers and the actual mount to feed the cable between the slats and plug the dp cable into the gpu. This seems to be right up against them which means i'd have to cut out some of the struts that are between the pci slots to get the cable through.

Returned mine also on an NV7 looks like it's a common theme then.

Mine is arriving next week ffs, was too late to cancel it. The description implies as long as you have 7 pcie slots free you're good to go. But you also need a case that doesn't have divider bars between the pci slots. I could cut one or 2 out but cant be arsed doing that.

For me it was just an awkward fit and kinda gave up half way (get stressed easily) when things don't just work as advertised :D

I'm going too take a better look over Christmas but I'm not sure it will fit my case even if I dremel out the verticals. Might end up swapping the case for a compatible one.
Overall it's a decent bracket, and I do want to protect the card given the ridiculous card prices but the fitment is poor.
