Recently I purchased some phanteks rgb strips ( 2 x 400mm) and plugged them into a addressable gen 2 rgb header on my motherboard. However when i tried to control them with the software I am getting no response from them apart from a single bulb which switches on and of sometime. Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with the strip? Thanks

Can you post some photos please? Try the software that is provided by your motherboard manufacturer.

Are you plugging in the header which is two pins, blank then a third pin?

RGB is different to ARGB

The RGB strips will have 4 pins/holes ( 12volt )

The ARGB strips will have 3 pins/holes ( 5volt )

You cannot interchange them

Use Imgur.com

Drag your image into the screen > Put mouse over image > top right next to 'Copy Link' click on the 3 dots > 'Get Share Links' > then click copy link and paste it here

May be missing my mark, but I think it's the RGB header you want to be plugging them into. if you plugged them into the aRGB header that's a 5volt output RGB is 12V if it's the Phanteks branded LED strip that needs to go into the RGB header next to the a(dressable)RGB.
If you're lucky you will have damaged nothing, at worst you may have blown out that aRGB header

The phanteks are 5v and have a slot dimmed out so they wouldn't fit into the 12v rgb header

You are looking for this connector on the phanteks strip ( i've got the same )
