Err I'm being terrorised by an anonymous cyber stalker over MSN Messenger, been getting death threats and everything. I'm not worried, I just want to find out who it is as some of the things they've said indicate they know me.

Is there anyway I can get their IP and report their provider etc.

Just use the block button. IMO.

Ok, ok, I'll stop it now!!!

:p

I don't believe there is anyway to get an ip address over an instant messenger, unless they send you a file or something. I can't remember the console command for it though, perhaps someone will be able to help out?
If it's msn, I recall you being able to type in some command similar to /ping into the message window and it gives you the persons IP address, I think you need their permission though.

Or on the other hand, you could always:

Do A/S/L, I'll be betting you will find him that way. Its probably just one of your mates winding you up.

Believe me it's not a mate of mine, some of the things they've said about my past are really cruel and no mate would say that.

To be honest I'd love to find out who it is so I can show him the benefit of 15 years of martial arts experience.

You go, girl!

I'm sure you can give him a nasty scratch with the corner of your keyboard too :)

I think what you mean is netstat , dont know the exact parameters though

if you can get the person to send you an email, then you can get their ISP from that.

Edit:

To find out a persons IP when you are chatting with them on MSN Messenger you must be currently chatting or transfering a file the goto the command prompt and typ netstat. The look for port 1863.
