6.8 V12 in them, no picture of the engine but i'l take a couple when i get my grubby mits on it.
Have you ever sat in one?
It isn't at all. It's the absolutely sublime epitome of luxury motoring. No and have no desire to either. I'm an avid fan of cars of all shapes, sizes and designs but to me that phantom is equivalent of wearing a gold bar around your neck on thick gold rope chain.
It hasn't tbhWas.
The Mulsanne has got it beat![]()

I'm not arguing the luxury quality side of it, as I said before I appreciate the build and lavish materials used, but to me the design of it isn't to my taste and answering hurf if i'd ever sat in one I don't see how that would change anything. It just doesn't have classy lines or any interesting design features, which to me is part of the whole package of a car.
I disagree, but then we've had this disagreement before. The Mulsanne looks dreadfully inelegant, especially from the front with the awkward light design and garish lower grille, not to mention having the wrong number of cylinders and turbos. That's enough to kill it as 'the epitome' for me. The Rolls-Royce is the benchmark, if not the very definition of the class.Oh no you didn't!![]()
The Phantom is a quality car without a shadow of a doubt but as someone who has been lucky enough to have a sit and play around in both I maintain that the Mulsanne is just something else and that's not me being bias (much). I'm quite glad they made it so ugly because if it looked a bit more like an Arange I'd be willing to do some pretty unspeakable things in order to own one.
At the end of the day, Phantom. Mulsanne. You can't lose can you?![]()
It is rather massive, but then the Bentley wheel looks like it was nicked from the Vauxhall parts bin.The Rolls steering wheel looks like it was nicked from a van.
Look more like the one out of the new A6/A8 actuallyIt is rather massive, but then the Bentley wheel looks like it was nicked from the Vauxhall parts bin.
Indeed you can. However, I feel the more 'boutique' miniamlist opulence in the Rolls-Royce is a more contemporary choice than the attempt Bentley have made to mimic your Grandad's smoking room. As someone who is a self-confessed fan of large amounts of wood, I feel that the Mulsanne interior is just overdoing it a bit. What's interesting is you can really see the BMW and VW designers at work there.
E65 7 Series and Phaeton/A8 interiors there..
Indeed, and it is not a handsome wheel. Very odd proportions and a BlackBerry-esque clicker wheel doing it no favours.Look more like the one out of the new A6/A8 actually![]()
