Phenom 2 940 to haswell?

People are taking that quote/post out of context.
I stayed out of the thread because, well I've almost giving up caring.

But streaming to Xbox?

Do you know what he'll be streaming to the Xbox? Movies etc, pretty much any CPU for the last however long would handle that perfectly well.

It's funny, this brain washing stuff.

But didn't you hear? He needs all those 8 threads so he can stream to his Xbox.
God.

Queue the Youtube video with the results that contradict everything on the planet (Ignoring the streaming sttuff, as he states it bests it 9/10 before bringing up streaming)

Does an i7 not have 8 threads or did Intel change that under my nose?

I was being sarcastic :p. Hence the whole post.

You don't need anything as powerful as an fx83 or an i7 for streaming to an Xbox.

I went to my mates years ago, and he used to stream to his 360, he was just running a stock Q6600 (Well, I assume it was the Q6600, that's what he has now, it could have been a PC he had before hand)

Martin from **** forums?

Its true that most cpus these days can stream fine but with mine clocked at 3.8ghz streaming 1080 is a no go and anything lower i have to leave for about half an hour if i want to fast forward some of the way through. When streaming obviously all 4 cores are at 99% so would be nice for something that wouldnt gimp my whole computer while streaming.

Either way i need to upgrade since im down to 4gb of my 8gb ocz ram (which was supposed to have lifetime warranty) and its ddr2 anyways plus cpu is getting on a bit.

Money is not a total issue for a new setup since ive been holding back cash for ages thinking i will get the next one that comes out etc, Although saying that i dont want to be throwing money away on negligible performance increases.

I'd take the i7 4770K, but then again, I'm brain washed.

The FX8320 will be a worthy upgrade to your system, but the Intel will be the better gamer.

I've streamed 1080p around the house for the last 2 years on my i5's (To my Surface, or Laptop for example)

EDIT : I actually had a portable zip of Dishonoured (I own the game, check my Steam) and could stream it to my Laptop.

EDIT 2 : How do you actually stream to your 360?

I use Network sharing to stream (So I click network tab in windows explorer, then my PC), my laptop's currently streaming a 1080p file from my PC, my CPU's not even getting touched (On my PC)

I use tversity but its set to always transcode since some things have subtitles etc and it gives me better compatibility when streaming.

I like to upgrade to the best i can when i do since i usually keep my systems for a while, (bar GPU). I got my 940 right at release and havent upgraded anything since except the gpu .
