Will the Asus M3N78 Pro NVIDIA 8300 be compatible with Phenom 2. It sais am3 supported but i have no idea. Nothing seems very clear on this,
 
I am just wondering if the motherboard will already have the bios update, if not how will i be able to flash the bios using the phenom 2? I dont have a compatible CPU standing by.
 
no i had to flash them with latest bios but its real easy on these boards as it has ez flash in the bios so you can just use a pen drive.
 
some of the AM2+ board should be able to run the new chips out of the box but they might not be that stable

however if your lucky enough then you could get a board that has the latest bios... but atm the chances of that are slim
 
You were right, the motherboard did boot with the Phenom 2 installed but i did have to update the bios to get the correct description in the bios menu.
