phenom 550 overclock gone wrong

I already had my cpu unlocked to 3 cores and overclocked to 3.6ghz, however having a few drinks i thought i could push it further and used the asus overclocking software.
My pc locked up after a couple of minutes, and after about 15 it done nothing so i restarted it.
Since then i can't overclock via the multiplier liked i used to because my pc restarts itself, same when i unlock the extra core. And now it will restart during heavy games (temps are below 45).
Has the program damaged my cpu when overclocking it or was in a combination of me having my cpu overclocked then pushing it further with the program?
Ive loaded default setting in bios and uninstalled the program.

I'm using a eco IT watercooling unit and my mobo is an asus crosshair iv.

Any help would be appreciated

It was 1.43v for the cpu vcore, now it's 1.33, i assume they are right as 1.43 was when it was overclocked and unlocked and the 1.33 is now with no overclock.

It also restarts itself occasionally at stock settings, but this has only happened since i used that overclocking utility by asus :/

I can play BF3 or NFSS2 and it will crash after 1 or 2 hours of game play, yet if i play css i can play all day with no problems. But the crashes also occur when on desktop or using my browser.

I did try the cmos battery removal and it hasn't worked.

hmm that voltage shouldn't really hurt the chip the phenoms are fine till about 1.5 as far as I know. I would again try turning the pc off at the wall and remove the cmos battery for about 15-20 mins just to make sure, Other than that I am not too sure you may just have been really unlucky, may have been a combination of the unlocked core and OC but still fairly rare to damage a phenom at that low voltage

You have a really good motherboard so whats a 550BE doing in it? :p See if you can get a second hand 955/965BE (revision/stepping C3) will go to 4+ easy with 4 cores!

The 550BE was just to get me going, was going to get a hex core 6 months after buying it and 2 years later i'm stuck with it! , but urm my love for mountain biking and the fact one, nor two bikes was ever enough :D Which drains my cpu money! Although a better cpu will be getting sorted in the coming months.

Oddly, i think my memory could be the problem. It's the kingston hyper x 8gb ram that overclockers had for 30 quid the other month. Ive moved the clock speed down to 1333mhz from 1600mhz and everything is fine on stock clocks for the cpu and no crashes despite hours of gaming. Going to try overclocking the cpu tomorrow and see what happens.

Yeh it's my memory at fault, it wont run at 1600mhz without crashing my system or making it really unstable? Is there anything i should look into or should i RMA them?
