Phenom 955 Vs 965? Much diffrence when overclocked?

I'm pretty sure they are identical chips, just one was made later and was given a different clock speed. I heard rumours that the 955 overclocks better but don't take my word for it. If you were going to be overclocking save the money from a 955 and put it towards a cooler, if not then get the 965 for the little bit of extra speed.

Yeah i also heard the 955 overclocks better especially the C3 stepping i had mine at 4.2 Ghz last month for a few benchmark runs. But is good for 24/7 at 3.84Ghz
Better to save the £20 and get the 955 and spend the saved money on better cooling or something

No point going for the 965 if your just going to run it at 3.6Ghz.....
About the only difference between the '55 and '65 is that the 65 should be good for an extra 200mhz or so , on the max overclock.
Upto you whether you think an extra 200mhz is worth £20.....
You certainly wouldn't notice any difference in games, that's for sure.....
