Same time as the B3 steppings which at the moment is "Q1 2008" so anytime between next week and April, more likely towards the end of the quarter though.

Well the 9600 BE is due out next week, don't know about a 9900 BE though

Or get a Q6600 and clock it to within an inch of it's life?

I'm holding out for the Black Editions aswell, pretty much sorted the rest of my system, just need to "restore" the case...
Annoying having a cheap setup but no CPU to set it up though, I'll need to get another CPU for the bios flash anyway, it's got to be Sempron time *vomits*.
The 9500 is tempting given how cheap it can be found but I really want that unlocked multi!

i am tempted to wait for the 9900 but the 9600be is also extremely tempting, might get a 96 run it for a few months then go for a 99be if its out, should be able to ebay the 96 to recover some of the cost

well thats me decided I shall get a 9600be next week (or whatever the highest number be thats out next week lol)
just ordered up the graphics cards and the mobo now for ram and psu lol

As in will it work with AM2 boards? Should be the same as normal Phenoms so it'll just need a bios flash if you've not got the newest bios

Just a higher clock, it'll probably have the fabled B3 stepping but as of yet it's still not known how much that'll help the overclocking

It's not AMD putting prices up it's the retailers. There's some messed up logic behind it but up until last week I could get a 9500 for under £130 and a 9600 for under £150 but they've gone up to match the rest of the country now
