Phenom II 1090T random temperature spikes?

I've tried searching on the net for answers but I can't seem to find anything.
So what the problem is is that the temperature fluctuates randomly every now and again and because my fans are controlled via PWM it bumps them all upto 100% for 2 - 3 seconds then back down to normal.
My 1090T is overclocked to 3.8Ghz (all stock volts) so I set the speed back to default and the same problems occur, even with cool n quiet enabled it happens. I also tried loosening the clamp on the H70 to see if that was causing the temperature spikes but again it still occurs.
I haven't done anything stressful this morning and it is currently at an idle temp of 32°c but hardware monitor is reporting that it has gone upto 51°c at some point. Under full load it is around about 48°c with the temp fluctuating to as high as 68°c.

If anybody has any ideas as to why it is doing this or any solutions that would be great!

Sounds like it could be a dodgy sensor or motherboard, the easiest way to get around it would be to set fan speed manually.

Do you have latest bios? what board is it?

It might also be worth trying the stock heatsink for a bit just to make sure that your H70 doesn't have a faulty pump or something like that.

Ah I meant to update this. The motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3, so I was using Gigabyte's Easytune 6 to control the PWM fans.... so I uninstalled that it and turns out that it was the software causing the misreadings!

Not sure why the software would cause it but still at least it is fixed! Shame I didn't think to try uninstalling that before I dismantled most of the PC though. :p
