Phenom II

I'm looking at the AM2+ Phenoms, and I'm considering an upgrade on my current AMD 6000+

My current motherboard is;

It says it supports AM2+/AM2, but doesn't say "phenom II" only says Phenom, am I right in assuming this will still support the PII? And if it does, will I have to flash to the latest bios(currently running F4, latest is F6)

Some boards req. a bios update to work with the PIIs. Generally AM2+ is good enough for the PIIs.

Have a check on the manufacturer website to be sure.

It will work fine with both AM2+ and AM3 phenom II's.
They added support in the latest F6 bios.

uuuh the Gigabyte website is horrible, it wont seem to work for me, check the CPU support list for the board you have.
I know for my Asus board some PIIs are listed, if you don't have them listed for you then you wont be able to run it properly.

I have this Mobo too, works great with the Phenom II's. I don't own a phenom myself yet, but a friend let me borrow his to test if it worked and it flies along.
