at the moment i have an Asus m2n4-sli motherboard and an AMD athlon x2 5000+ processor, but ive heard debates where my AM2 (its not am2+) board will support the phenom x4 processor because it has both an am2 and am3 memory controller built into it or something along those lines...
what do you guys reckon? don't just spam me with replies like 'no' and don't explain why either
they're are people who swear they have an am2 board and an x4 phenom works fine and then they're are others that don't even recommend it.
the reason i'm asking is because I like my motherboard i currently have its great with overclocking and its very stable. if it doesn't work with the phenom could you guys recommend a good am3 board with ddr3 memory slots and 2/4 pci-e graphics slots thankyou!
