Hello, just see a "AMD Bulldozer FX-4 Quad Core 4130 Black Edition 3.80GHz" CPU for sale and wondered if its worth upgrading for £25 from my "Phenom II x 4 965 @ 3.4GHz" ?

Thanks

Thanks for the replies guys.

Maybe I should upgrade my GTX460 first then to something like a GTX760/770.

Then the watercooling loop to save room in my case then worry about CPUs :)

It's why AMD, retailers and rest should name this CPU 2M/4T, or simply 2-modules CPU. One should explain to such customer what's the difference between real quad core and so-called quad core, and why both are being sold as quad cores :-)

At stock speeds they've got about the same performance, so no not worth it.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/102?vs=700 (this is the 4300 which is piledriver, but not much difference).

A 6xxx would be a nice little upgrade if the board supports it, as would an 8xxx obviously but check the max wattage on the mobo.

Still, money probably better spent on the GPU first.
