I am getting the following

AMD Phenom X4 9950 2.6GHz Black Edition Socket AM2+
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H 780G Socket AM2+
Crucial 8GB (2X2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Ballistix Memory

Gonna be using it for running virtual machines on vmware player or Virtual PC on Vista 64-bit, but am interested in overclocking potential.
Been a while since i've overclocked PC.

Current set up is a socket 939 Opteron, o/c'd to 2.6Ghz.

Can anyone recommend a decent overclocking tool, like Gogar's Athlon 64 OC Optimizer used on my previous CPU.

Also does anyone know the potential overclock based on the hardware on my new setup.

Thank you all for your help

That board will probably pop when you turn it on with that CPU in. You'll need a board meant to cope with the power the PCU will draw.

As your getting the 9950 BE which i also have i highly recommend you should get this board -( http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...0FX (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard )- i know its more expensive than the board you have chosen but trust me when i say you get what you pay for and the board ive linked is what i have with my 9950BE and its awesome plus it has the new 750SB :)
Just save up a while longer trust me youll be glad you did.
