Phew - Just done my tax return !

Just did my tax return on-line. Last minute I know ! On the login screen it says that I got my reminder on the 7th April 2007 - I know I have been putting it off for a while, but jeeez I didnt realise I was sooooo lazy !

Anyways done now. Scary moment when I forget to enter how much tax I have already paid for the last tax year, and it calculated my tax bill as £10k + lol :p

Phew, can sleep sound now !

Did my 3 monthly VAT return last week, not impressed, but then I shouldn't be unhappy, I make 5.5% extra a year thanks to the flat rate scheme :D
 
I had to do the wife's last week. She always leaves it to the last minute before she asks me to sort it all out.

£380 rebate though. Woohoo!
 
Why do you need to do a tax return? Ive seen Adam Hart Davis falling down a huge egg timer but am not sure if it relates to me.

Thats what he wants you to think... you will get a phone call later saying he is going for a nice holiday in the Seychelles for an unknown amount of time. :p

are you self employed?
are you vat registered?

If no to both, ignore it, your employer will have it sorted for you.

I really don't think HMRC want every working person to do that, imagine the amount of people they would have to employ only to do nothing most of the year... oh wait!
