Philips 42"

My mates got a philips 42" plasma and I think the tubes have gone in it. It turns on and works fine but is VERY dark just visible, Its a good 5 yr old.
Is it an easy job replacing the tube or shall i just tell him to sell it as spares and get a new one?

yes but not that quickly lol. thats definately not due to normal aging

probz with ma boob tubes?

Have a read up on the different tv technologies before making an unhelpful comment


OP, plasmas don't have tubes, or boob tubes. If you would want to raplce something then it would be the whole panel which would be more effort and cost than buying a new tv.

Firstly just check the brightness isn't at minimum and try a full reset of the settings to rule that all out.
