"What video and audio formats does the sync box support?

The sync box 4K supports HDMI 2.0 up to 4K in 60 Hz and 1440 p in 120 Hz, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+.

The sync box 8K supports HDMI 2.1 up to 8k in 60 hz and 4k in 120Hz, Dolby Vision and HDR10+."

Says that the original did support HDR?

Might end up grabbing one of these at some point :)

my original did not work with the hdr update at all when using hdr content, its well documented online that it really struggled with hdr.
1 example link here but there's hundreds out there https://www.reddit.com/r/Hue/comments/j9gt5b/hue_sync_box_and_hdr_doesnt_seem_to_be_working/

hopefully on the new one they have implemented it correctly and not a half arsed afterthought patch that didn't work.

Really interested in one of these but even with the updated specs I'd be worried about the next consoles making this unusable. Has anyone tested this with the current consoles with vrr and whatnot?

This is essentially the same thing just with a new chipset. The reddit sub is loaded with folks having issues and I am not surprised really. The variables for things going wrong are huge.

Philips really need to sort themselves out for the Hue range as they are lacking on a good range of products and supply, not to mention an ancient bridge that needs more of an upgrade than a HDMI switcher.
