Hello, I have a LG tv and a LG soundbar LG S80QR

I am having trouble getting everything to work with my Philips hue sync box. When playing music through the Apple Music app on the t.v the lights on the Philips Hue are not reacting to the music.

my question is, how is the sync box supposed to get the signal from the t.v when I'm playing music with the t.v. apps

That is how I have it, But still nothing when using T.V apps

My understanding is that it doesn’t. The box can only react to signals from the HDMI inputs ie Sky and the PS5. There’s no way for the box to read the signal from the TV in order to change the lights

Arc/earc definitely setup on the TV ?. Dont have an LG so can't really give you pointers on how to check or what specific hdmi is for earc You could always check YouTube for a possible guide.

Or trial the Hue Sync app, see if that works and suits your needs. Its not free however, few quid a month or a one off payment.

Bluecube is right, my error. Sync box won't work but the hue sync app will support the TV apps. I've used the Samsung one and it's surprisngly quite good, albeit not free.

Alternatively get something like an nvidia shield for all your streaming and hook it up via HDMI.
