So.

I had a 40" 4k Philips monitor.
I bought it from eBay around 20 months ago.

The other week, it decided to fail on me. Half the screen was dying, fuzzy lines and flashes half the time.

Philips simply asked when I bought it, and asked for it's serial number. Then informed me that they no longer stocked the old 40" monitor and asked if I would accept a compromise. A 43" 4k monitor!

I jumped at the chance, it arrived within 2 days and DPD took my old one away and have me the new one.

It's sat on my desk... And I must say... It's too big :o

You don't really hear much about Philips monitor support on here good to hear they sorted it for you and upgraded you without hassle.

Its only 3" bigger surely not too big :p

We use the 22"s at work. Very reliable and the support on the handful of occasions we've needed it has been excellent.

Hah, same. Except mine's had the screen flashing issue (with fuzzy lines) when waking from sleep pretty much the entire time I've had it. I just decided to email them a couple weeks ago and they said they'd replace it, and like you, it's out of stock so they offered me the 43" model :)

A friend of mine had his Philips 40" happily replaced by them when it got a thunderbug stuck in the panel. So yeah, they're pretty good with things like this.

I have the 40 inch Philips bought from MM here actually. It does have the fuzzy lines and flashing when waking up sometimes but it always comes good so far.

If there is audio on the monitor try turning it down to 0 or disabling if you have the option - 4K panels of that era had some weird bug with audio and power saving that could cause visual corruption.
