hi guys havent been on here long but really need you guys to help me,bought one off these off ock uk and was a bit suspisious about the fact on the web site its says its a 8ms panel but on the box its 16,anyway read the posts about this so i understand the situation a little, ive only got a fx5200 it booted up at 1024 768 np wasnt great ,so i decided to try my friends card which is only a 6200 put the latest nv drivers in and no signal whatsoever on the philips,by the way am goin to upgrade my card soon just want to see what the philips looks like at its nauve resolution of 1680 x 1050 but as i say no signal ive tried it though both dvi and vga but nothing, ock uk hadnt a clue about the response time and while i was there changed the website info to 16ms lol when i think the panel really is 8ms but on the box its 16mc crazy

that's not the clearest post there mate, try and re-read them if you can to help us out :)

I think what you're getting at is:

a) you are worried about which version of the 200W6CS you have? The older version of this screen was using a 16ms panel, but Philips recently updated the panel used to an 8ms model. OcUK have confirmed in the past that their stock is definitely the 8ms edition only so you should be ok

b) you can't get the screen to display at native resolution of 1680 x 1050? Those graphics cards should certainly be able to handle that with no problem. What refresh rate are you set at? Could be that your set at 75hz and it won't like this past a certain point in a lot of cases. Set it at 60Hz and try the res then. Make sure TFT drivers are installed if you can, and maybe try updating your graphics card drivers too

well when OcUK originally got the stock from Philips when this monitor became popular (only a couple of months ago) they confirmed with Philips that they were receiving the 8ms stock as per the spec on the Philips UK site. There are certainly two versions of this screen, the older 16ms and the newer 8ms editions. I noticed that OcUK list it as 16ms so perhaps they have only managed to get the older stock now, I'll get some clarification if i can :)

Gibbo has confirmed with me that the stock OcUK has is the 8ms spec version. He is getting the page updated to refllect this but says that the OcUK stock has always been the 8ms version :)

I had the philps 200w6 for a while before I sold it. On the other topic it was said that the 8ms version, on the back of the panel, the model number has “/00”, as in “200W6/00”. That’s how people were supposedly confirming if it was the 8ms… Best to read the other topic, or maybe email Philips directly.

The whole "00" versus "05" was confusing things, and Phiips suggested that was used for UK and European stocks really. Hard to say what stocks other places have, but rest assured OcUK have the new 8ms ver :)

not that im aware of. I'm assuming you've bought it from a competitor and so you're now unsure which ver you have? Think you might have to go by what spec the stockist list, cant see why they'd list it at 16ms if it wasn't so if it was listed as 16ms then chances are they had the older batch. You could try emailling Philips but they aren't the easiest to get a straight answer out of ;)
