Phising Attack?

My dad just recieved an E-Mail from "PayPal" and I'm not sure whether it is a phising attack or not. I managed to catch him just in time before he clicked the link. What do you think real or fake?

Images far too big for posting - please resize before posting. FF.

Sorry for large images

All seems fine to me.
If you are still worried - post your username and password here, I will check out your account so I will greet any nasty surprises on your behalf while you are safe and sound...

paypal will never ask you to click a link ;)

especially one asking you to verify your details

ive never had hotmail block a real paypal email either :)

Paypal will always refer to you with your username. Not "Dear Paypal Member".

This is definitely a scam.

IE7 beta has a phishing filter that detects stuff like this, tested it on a spoof email I had in my trash and it works great, it could be useful to people like our parents who are less informed on this topic.

Have a look at the header information in the email (I dont know if you can with hotmail), but you will more than likely find that it has been sent to you by something like [email protected] and not from paypal, I always found it a mystery why they dont just display that address rather than the one in the sender field, would make a lot more sense in a lot of places really.

As has been said, paypal will always refer to you by name (for me its first name). Also, if you hover your cursor over some of the links the URL's won't point to paypal.

Forward the whole mail to [email protected]

Exactly what made me suspicious as well as other things. I've just forwarded it to PayPal so hopefully they'll deal with it. Thanks for the replies everyone :D

I don't know if you think you're clever, but do you really think it is funny to post my real PayPal details just because I teased you on the forums?

Is that mature?

Its quite simple, hover your mouse over the links provided. If it says anything other than paypal.com at the start, be on alert (even something like paypalservice.com)...

True. My dad is very non-computer friendly (he doesn't know how to go to an internet website sometimes its painful :() and he really doesn't know how to spot a fake E-Mail from a real one no matter how many times I tell him. I think I might install IE7 for the anti-phising thing.
