hi all, so heres the deal i got chosen to test 2 Phobya G-Silent 12 1500rpm RED LED fans and here i am testing them :)

lets start on the aesthetic features of these fans:

firstly the box. the box is very well presented in my opinion and i especially like how the fan is shown, not to keen on the phobya logo though

now that the fans out of the box we can see it in full.
imag0075df.jpg

it has a high quality look and feel to it not your everyday tackey plastic fan,
the white cable braiding was also a nice surprise too as i have a fractal case and am getting white cables :)

now how it looks inside of the case:
first off lets see how dull and boring the coolit eco stock fan looks
imag0073i.jpg

in my opinion not very nice at all.
now lets compare it to the phobya fan
imag0077t.jpg

thats much better, you might not be able to see it on camera but the red led's have a nice almost warming glow to them and are not too in your face.

so first i tested these fans against the stock cooler of the cool it eco.
the first test was noise, heres a video of the noise that the cool it eco fan in a pull configuration on the rad makes along with the rest of the fans in the case.
as you can hear the cool it eco fan is the nosiest of the lot and i hate it!
now for 1 of the phobya fans
That is a lot quieter and so much more acoustically pleasing!!
now for 2 phobya fans in a push pull config
a little bit more noisy but still a lot more quieter than that stupid coolit fan :D

now for the temperature testing which may be slightly disappointing :(

now i had done videos of intel burn test running with temp sensors but they manged to corrupt them selfs  so you will just have to take my word for it.

first things first my specs:
i5 2400
msi-z68a-gd80-g3
asus direct cu ii top 560ti
8gb corsair vengeance
ocz vertex 2 60gb +1tb samsung

also the other fans in my case are:
2x 140mm fratcal fans
1x 120mm fractal fan

so i ran intel burn test on standard for 5 loops.
the temps were:
on the standard coolit eco fan - highest recorded temp was 53C
on 1 phobya fan - highest recored temp was 55C
on 2 phobya fans in push pull - highest recorded temp was 52C

so as you can see the coolit eco fan vs the phobya fan 1v1 the cool it fan offers better cooling capabilities, this is expected due to the cooling fan having a higher rpm however this is at the price of an awful noise!

here are the pros and cons of both fans

coolit fan
pros:
Good cooling capabilities

cons:
ugly
noisey
no cable braiding

phobya fan's
pros:
quiet
good looking
cable braiding
nice led's

con's:
not as good cooling capabilities.

over all i find the phobya fans to be much more aestheticly and acoustically pleasing and as a result of that i have another on preorder and i have also order some more phobya products :)

Now i know this may not be the best review about and it has a few things missing but this is my attempt and its my first review so enjoy and thanks for reading :)

That's an interesting review.

My main problem with it is it doesn't seem entirely neutral. It's OK in my opinion to be very happy with the fans, but you make so many negative comments about the original fan that it seems to me you're protesting too much.

And then there is the fact that they are pants fans. They don't work very well. You kind of skate over that very quickly. If you want people to take your opinion seriously, you need to be objective and honest. If you just give every product a huge thumbs-up, you'll be written off as in the pocket of the people supplying the review item. And you could maybe use a spell-checker before posting.

Apart from that I liked the consistent process of showing the fans in use with video and overall it was a well-done review. And it told me what I wanted to know.

As I'm not looking to lure small boys into my home, and I want cooling performance, these aren't the fans for me.

that's fair enough, i can understand where your coming from saying im giving it to many positive comments and all that but tbh I've only ever owned 3 different sets of fans and they have all been pants so you can see where im coming from. I must admit though the original fan really was that bad, i hated it and the only real good thing that came from it was the amount of air that they pushed through :) also sorry about the spelling i did kinda rush it abit ;)

i also said that the temps were slightly dissapointing ;)

Good review - i liked it :)

two degree difference isnt too bad considering their quieter which means you can have push/pull and so they are better IMO :)

not as good as gentle typhoons, but nothing to sneeze at :p

yeah, i have to agree they are not the best fans in the world but imo still pretty good in noise to performance ratio :)
