So the packaging is pretty simple, but I must also say pretty flimsy wouldn’t take much for a blade to get broken in transit, if the courier was having a bad day. So the packaging could be better.

The fan itself seems sturdy enough & comes with 4 screws, felt a bit disappointed that there were no Rubber Fan Pins or washers. Also the braiding is a courser shiny type, encase your pedantic like myself & prefer matte.

So a comparison of the two fans, stock Silverstone on the left & top and Phobya on the right & bottom.
Now the crucial difference between the fans is the the Silverstone is 32mm vs 25mm although phobya do, do a 32mm version but it only comes in red led.

Key stats wise;

Phobya

Nominal speed: 700rpm (+/-10%)
Airflow: 56 CFM
Noise level: 17 dB(A)

Silverstone

Nominal speed: 700rpm (+/-10%)
Airflow: 100 CFM
Noise level: 18 dB(A)

So for a bit of context, both fans were used as front intake fans both fixed to case mouting with dust filter installed. Hardware used in the test is;

Cpu (720Be @ 2.8ghz stock) under scythe mugen 2 with noctura p12
Gpu (4850 @ stock) under Artic cooling Accelero TWIN TURBO Pro
HDD 1 ( Samsung 160gb)
HDD 2 (Seagate 500gb)
mobo: GA-MA78G-DS3H
Ram: 4gb corsair xms DDR2-800

Note; to anyone who feels hardware is too outdated please feel free to send me samples for review :p

So to the important part temps;

Silverstone
DF1803212RFLN

Idle Load

Cpu 30c 38c
Gpu 33c 45c
HDD 1 20c 24c
HDD 2 26c 30c

Phobya G-silent
180mm 700rpm

Idle Load

Cpu 31c 40c
Gpu 35c 48c
HDD 1 22c 27c
HDD 2 28c 32c

On a side note I was expecting that the Phobya being 25mm would be nosier this wasn’t the case & is surprisingly quite.

So in conclusion, I would say that the Phobya G-silent 180mm 700rpm fan is a great fan & not that far behide the thicker stock fan, I would guess based on its performance that the 32mm version may have the edge over the stock.

So if you’re in the market for an 180mm x 25mm fan look no further I give this product the tiny screwdriver seal of approval.!
