A neighbour of mine is having issues with their phoneline. Whenever someone trys to ring the landline, the phone gives a 'funny' ring, not your 'ring ring' type but a long ringgggg and when you lift the phone, its dead like.
When you disconnect the router, the phone rings like normal. I have tried different filters and phones, (cordless to corded) and even at the test socket, the same problem occurs. BT have performed their line test and say nothing is wrong with the line so they can't send an engineer out and blames wiring in the house but I can confirm this when I use the test socket behind the master socket.
Any thoughts as to what could be wrong. Its a real head scratcher.
Cheers.
