just got a phone call from aol saying BT have flagged my line, and said the beta max connection is "causing problems" at the exchange ;s, i didnt answer the call however and they left a msg on the answer machine.

what could it be? i know they have done something to my connection due to the fact they have increased the SNR margain on my line making it so i sink at a slower speed, i was able to get 4mb+ , and now i am getting -2.5

i am quite a heavy usage user, could that be the reason? are bt mad i download a lot?!

heavey usage, as in i downloaded a 14gig file in one night 3 days before i got the phone call ;s

i am on a bt voyager modem, and i did kinda tweak the settings giving me better stats on my line

i changed the txpwratten from 0db to 12, and also changed the coding gain from auto to 7.0

so would changing those settings i mentioned be likely to have caused any problems? what if there is contention problems at the exchange, not that there is, it is listed as green at the exchange checker, and when i download/upload it causes every1 else on the exchange to suffer becuase of it ;o

Possibly, but I'd doubt it.

BT still won't "flag your line" for transferring too much.

Good idea, chase AOL for actual information, instead of speculating.

i allready phoned aol, but the guys that deal with connection stuff leave at 5pm. so there was no one there that knew anything about it.
