Phone calls on laptop

Depends on your phone, but with Android you need the Link to Windows app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.appmanager&hl=en&gl=US

However another weird limitation, on top of the app you also need Bluetooth on the PC as well, as it basically uses your PC as a BT headset.

According to this link, it should work with iOS as well: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb...link-app-c7e75908-c65d-bd42-fcb2-ea4d5fb783f1

EDIT: D'oh, I may have misunderstood completely what OP wanted.

How do I use my laptop to make phone calls? Is any feature built into windows or do I need to use a application or something?
insatall Zoiper a voip product , and get a payg contract on localphone say for a voip sip ID - you can then make calls cheaper than phone contracts - use it all the time

Messenger?
WhatsApp?
Though those need the person you're calling
To also use them
If you mean to phone any number free
Ie they don't have those apps
Probably need to find a pc to phone app
That's supported by adverts
Since my assumption is at some point
It goes from through your Internet
Then has to connect to the traditional phone network
So basically someone is footing a connection charge
Hence adverts to cover it

With home phones being phased out
Voip and the sort of service that you want
Could become a bit of a booming market

Skype used give free minutes with a free monthly MS subscription, might still do. Depends how many minutes you need.

VoIP would require a monthly or annual sub for "free" unlimited calls.
