Phone data transfer software...

Basically, have a sony ericsson phone...I think its the 550i...could be wrong....but anyway...the software that comes with the phone to enable the transfer of music and pictures to an dfrom the phone to the pc is absolutely shocking....so I was wondering, is there any pc friendly program that will do the same job, that will mean not using this dire sony program that clogs up my pc??

I dont have a way of bluetoothing to my pc, although that would solve the problem...is it worth looking into a blouetooth dongle then? or are there more upto date pieces of equipment that will do it these days?
