Phone for Nan

Hi there,

I'm looking for a simple phone to buy for my dearest Nan. She is currently using a very old button nokia which it's on its last legs.

Someone has suggested to me a Doro phone, which looks good (big buttons etc) but it seems quite expensive (~£100) unless I go for an older model.

So I guess really the question is, can anyone vouch for any of the Doro phones or a budget Nokia phone that would be good for a senior user? Many thanks

Cheers semi-pro! It does seem a bit pricey mind, would an older model be reasonably sufficient, in your eyes?

An iPhone would have been very excessive and probably unusable, but I'm very impressed your grandma could use it! Texts and calls are more than enough at my end. Besides, even I don't need a 5s

I got her the doro and it is crazy simple compared to a modern phone, so it seems totally absurd to be paying £40 for it today (I just put her old sum in - got it on EE but had to buy a sim), but it has nice big buttons, a clear screen and loud tones, so it's a big step up from her old Nokia. We've been having fun taking some pictures this evening. I think it's pretty much perfect for the target audience, so whilst totally duff as a whippersnappers gadget, it has fulfilled all criteria!

I foresee that grampy will be getting one soon - I couldn't believe his current one when I saw it... mother of god, it looks as old as me.
