Hi guys,

Hope some of you kind people can give me some help.

Really need some advice on broadband providers please - Had a look around and it just seems to be far too confusing to work out which would be the best company to go for now....

This will be my nearest exchange;

Apparently BT fibre to the cabinet is coming in June although I cant wait that long for internet.

the place that I am moving into currently has no telephone line installed - god knows what the previous occupant did with their time!

I dont have a particular need for a phone line other than to use the internet and maybe to make 0800 calls which are charged on my mobile package.

So I need line rental, line installation and broadband. If cheaper together then thats great but otherwise not sure what order to get what and who with.

data use is likely to be relatively high although probably at its peak overnight. At a rough guess maybe 200GB a month. Happy to pay a little extra for better service but really dont want to be receiving additional charges or being threatened with being disconnected. Could tolerate certain traffic shaping if I'm having a heavy month.

Also I have an 02 phone at the mo although expecting to change in a few months. I know that they used to be quite good for broadband but have heard less positive things about them recently.

Any ideas???

Would really appreciate any suggestions as it seems that the reputations of all the companies have changed and all the really highly regarded ISPs I have found dont operate from that exchange as llu.

Any responses from the resident experts would be very much appreciated! :D

Ahhh Seems like Sky is going to be the way to go.

roughly
£40 connection
£11.25 phone rental
£10 unlimited broadband with first 3 months free on 12 month contract and apparently no "fair usage" clause!

BE* seemed ok but for some reason they have an issue installing a line on that exchange so would have to get seperate line rental and just seemed more expensive and would take longer to set up and then would have to have the hassle of BT and BE bills.

All other LLU providers seem to have seriously bad reviews from what I can see.

Now just need the previous owner to get round to cancelling their sky tv package cos cant set up with Sky while he has a current contract at that address with them!

Does mean not too late if anyone has a far better solution that I am somehow missing.
