phone line length

Hi

Which would give me the best adsl speed:-

1) Extend the master socket by 25m
2) Leave the router by the master socket and run a 25m cat 5 lead

with my setup i have the router plugged in to the master and ran a 30m up to the third floor, never had a prob with disconnecting and always full signal strength

It won't make any difference, but ethernet from the router to your machine isn't going to affect your ADSL.

shortest possible cable into the master box (could go to the test point if you really wanted) and then ethernet to anywhere else - any badly wired/cheap etc phone lines can seriously affect your adsl line quality whereas cat5 is a bit more robust to interference etc.
