Phone, Net & Telly packages...

how do

we're looking at packages with ntl, telewest etc. wondering if anyones got any stonking deals and are happy to give up any advice...

heres what we want:

• BROADBAND: 4MB-10MB (higher the better depending on the deal), no caps, limiters etc.

• TV: just a basic package wouldn't mind having discovery channel and maybe some motor racing but not all that bothered...

• PHONE: cheap as poss but we use the phone to call mobiles a fair amount and we're not around in the day so some sort of off peak setup would be best...

any advice would be greatly appreciated

was looking at them but just checked regional availablilty and i can't get it here...

If you can hold out till a bit later in the year you will be able to get all three through SKY

I was reading about these packages in a business newspaper (it was left on the train, i was bored).

They worked it out and in many cases it actually works out cheaper to get all the things seperately.

It's often the price of phone calls that end up stinging most people (up to 5X more expensive).

Cable is gonna be cheaper than whatever DSL + SKYTV + Phone deal Sky can come up with. IMO if you can get cable and don't mind having NTL/Telewest TV over Sky TV, you should really get NTL/Telewest as the Internet is generally faster than ADSL and cheaper. (but you cannot chose your ISP)

Then just never use the phone and make all your calls using Internet connection. NTL make the money on the telephone calls.

That maybe true just now but as soon has Sky has installed there own equipment in ALL the local exchanges they will be able to beat any price NTL, CABLE offer just now, you are right about the connection speeds though the ADSL speeds are going to depend on how far you are from your local exchange
