Hey guys,

I'm posting on behalf on my gf who's looking for a new phone around november/december time.

She currently has a BB bold 9700 which is part of her families business plan from vodafone, something like 100 mins/unltd texts/free evening or weekend calls to landlines (or similar).

Think she's looking for her own contract and likes the look of the BB bold 9900 roughtly £36/month.

My question is there anything better currently or soon available that is/will be as good or better, that fits with the following requirements (women eh?):

  • Has to have keyboard (she doesn't like solely touch screen)
  • Not a slider (likely to break it)
  • Not nokia (doesn't like them)

So over to you wonderful people of OCUK is there anything better than the 9900?

Doubt it, to be honest. The 9900 is to all intents and purposes, a great bit of kit. Android QWERTY phones exist, but the OS doesn't suit the smaller screen and isn't really that user friendly. The only potential problem with the 9900 is that the battery life isn't great, but portrait QWERTY phones don't really exist as serious options away from the BB and Nokia E lines.

No. Get the 9900 for her, it's a great bit of kit. Really, I'm very impressed with it.

You can probably find it for a bit less than £36/month unless you need a lot of minutes.

Cheers for the replies guys.....It's what I thought really.
Only quickly checked the vodafone site for a price estimate, will be looking around for it cheaper
