asked why i wanted to leave so told them they are to expencive and i want 8mb (on 2mb )etc and the guy said we can lower your monthly fee to which i said no thanks as thats the fee i should be paying anyway as there prices have just dropped inline with the old 1mb service and told them that i can get 8mb for almost £10 pounds cheaper than them so unless they can match it then im off

he almost made it sound like they was doing me a favor to bring it down :(

anyway should have mac code in a day or so
 
yeah they suck i was having any of it either recieved my mac code yesterday after requesting it on friday, placed my order with evolution earlier today :)

Got a automated email saying my line should be up and running by the 25th april, just wondering what the earliest i ca expect the line up?
 
I'm going to ring pipex and do the same thing. Can anyone tell me the best time to do this? I think they charge my direct debit at the end of the month.
 
Just rang pipex and requested my mac code. Got to wait up to 72 hours now, what do I do wait until I recieve it then contact evolution or contact them and tell them I want there service but am waiting on the mac code?
 
well it might be worth checking your inbox already..... i got my mac from pipex 30 minutes after ringing them. :D

it's probably best to wait for your mac as then you can probably signup online without the need for pesky human intervention... :p

what made you choose nildram over the many other providers?

which package did you sign up for?

i am considering nildram but just want to be sure that i wisely pick a provider and therefore any feedback would be great.

i went for this package

basicall £25.99 for upto 8mb (will be £33 from pipex), 3 weeks earlier than pipex said it would be ready by them, and upto now no throttling and only a months contract, if i re-graded with pipex i would have another 12months contract even tho i have been with them for 3 years
basically they cant compete

as for why nildram over others? others have said reasonably good things about them, as they did with pipex 3 years ago so i thought worth a shot and if i dont like well i can go hunting after only 1 month where others ask a longer contract period

the package seems an excellent deal. they also giving free voice mins!

with so many on here jumping to evolution @ 24.99 for 8mb they also seem tempting but have not been around long!

one month contracts sound good! will they easily let you leave after a month? when giving notice in the future can you jump to another provider without cancellation fee or migration fee?

I'm doing the same soon. It's going to be such a hassle changing all my email accounts over to gmail though (as I can forsee moving between ISPs quite a lot soon).

I've had no problems with pipex at all. However the 12 month contract and P2P capping has pushed me.
 
Well I signed up for Evolution last night, I guess I just got to sit and wait now. I was with Pipex for 4 years! the guy on the phone was going on about how I was a loyal customer and they would hate to lose me, but I too wasnt putting up with p2p speed capping. Great deal with Evo - monthly contract up to 8 meg and nil caps unlimited dl.. go figure Pipex. :rolleyes:
